Alexander Sokol
Responsibilities
Alexander Sokol is CompatibL CEO. He is responsible for defining the company's overall direction and technology strategy.
Professional Experience
Prior to starting CompatibL, Alexander has been founder and Chief Technology Officer of Numerix from 1996 to 2003. During that time he was responsible for the company's entire software development effort, including recruiting and managing quants, developers, and business analysts.
While working at Numerix, Alexander designed and managed development of Numerix Toolkit and Engine.
Academic Experience
Alexander has been on the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and L.D. Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics (Moscow). He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from L.D. Landau Institute and a M.Sc. in Physics (with distinction) from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Alexander is the author of more than 45 academic publications and one patent in the areas of physics, high performance computing, and financial mathematics. His academic achievements were acknowledged by a number of prestigious research awards including:
- USSR Academy of Sciences Award and Medal for the Best Student Research of the Year, 1988;
- Arnold O. Beckman Research Award, 1994;
- Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow, 1995.
Eli Litvak
Responsibilities
Eli Litvak is the Chief Technology Officer of CompatibL. He is responsible for managing the company's entire development staff worldwide.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining CompatibL, Eli held a senior position at a top custom software development firm. He has been responsible for a number of high profile customer projects including engagements for Microsoft and SAP.
